Miranda Wells completed her formal training as a registered massage therapist (RMT) with the  Professional Institute of Massage Therapy in Saskatoon.  She completed her studies in 2008 and joined Inside Out Therapies Inc, then in 2024 diverged to become Ampersand Healing.  During her studies, she realized that her interest in how the body works and heals goes far beyond just the muscles. Consequently Somatic massage therapist Miranda Wells pursued further training with the John Barns style of myofascial release (MFR), craniosacral therapy, (CST),  Peter Levines model of somatic experiencing (SE), hypnotherapy,  the energetic style of Reiki and more. Miranda offers group and individual sessions for somatic movement/ somatic exercise, based off of Hannah Somatics. She is registered with Massage Therapy Association of Saskatchewan (MTAS), and The Hypnotherapy Association.

Miranda’s treatment style is a combination of her studies. Craniosacral therapy works with the bodies nervous system. Working with the craniosacral rhythm to find its internal balance.   Myofascial release (MFR) works with the fascia, (the connective tissue of the body). MFR is done without lotion or oils so the body can be used as its own leverage system, helping to unravel the tension at the source. Fascial work often has slower pace than traditional Swedish massage therapy. This is because it takes time for the bodies systems to accept the pressure, integrate the work being done, and then lengthen to create change, rather than to force or strip the muscle.

The SE component of a massage treatment with Miranda Wells involves taking time to ‘tune in’ and listen to the present and ancient wisdom the body has to offer. This tracking of the system encourages the client to be present in the experience, to notice how their body is responding and what internal or external force may be creating physiological responses. Working with this awareness helps to accelerate the healing process and calm the nervous system.

A treatment with Miranda Wells may include: myofascial realease, structural integration, craniosacral therapy, somatic experiencing, Hypnotherapy and/or traditional massage techniques, respecting the modalities you would or would not like utilized. Each session is tailored to you upon your arrival,  all techniques that are implemented aim to aid the body in its innate ability to heal itself whether it be from physical or emotional trauma.

This includes: * scars * surgery * inflammation * motor vehicle accidents * physical or mental abuse * traumatic birth for both mother and/or child *nervous system regulation *relearning your bodies movements
